While it is generally not possible to have a gun shipped directly to your door, it is far easier than some might think
to buy a gun from an online seller. This gives the buyer a vast selection of brand new and used guns to choose from, as opposed to limiting yourself
to the inventory of the handful of physical stores nearby. Some gun manufacturers allow direct purchases at factory prices and avoiding the gun store markup.
Step 1: Find an online gun seller
Here are some common and reliable gun buying websites: Gunbroker Guns.com
After you have found the firearm(s) you want to purchase and BEFORE you buy it, you must arrange the Form 4473 Transfer with
both the seller and South Platte Firearms. Request a copy of the seller’s FFL and fill out a request for the transfer with our team
by using the button below. As soon as we are able to process your request, we will send both you and the seller a copy of our FFL
that you will be required to present when you purchase your firearm.
Step 2: Arrange the Transfer
Once your firearm is paid for, the seller will ship the firearm to our store where you will be able to fill out the Form 4473
to officially transfer the firearm to you. Unfortunately, the State of Colorado enforces a mandatory Three (3) day waiting period on all
firearm transfers from the moment the forms are submitted to the State. We will secure the firearm
in a safe location until the waiting period clears, after which you will be able to fully own your firearm.
Step 3: Pick up your firearm
While the process may seem more complicated than going to a store and picking it up, using a local FFL to ship guns
from online sellers ultimately gives the buyer a wider selection to choose from while receiving priority treatment. If you want to know more information
on how to purchase a gun or any other regulated item online, please let us know at southplattefirearms.com or use the button below to request a firearm transfer.
